Hey Fremont County!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to the vigil last weekend, making two weekends in a row of quick action in response to major events.
We have some more events this next week and I hope you can make it to at least one.
Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 2PM-3PM we are holding a rally as part of the Walkout for a Free America. We will meet at Macon Plaza in Cañon City (the park outside the library at 5th and Macon). We will have several speakers discussing various topics from Due Process to LGBTQ+ Rights to Healthcare and more. Bring your signs!
Saturday, Jan. 24 from 11AM – 1PM we will have a protest at the corner of 9th and Hwy 50 in Cañon. A lot has been going on to speak up about. So bring your signs and let’s stand up together!
Saturday, Jan. 24 from 1PM – 3PM will be another Community Gathering Potluck at The Hive (729 Main St). Eat some good food, meet new folks, and we will have postcards, stamps, and a few things we can write our representatives about as a group.
And don’t forget that Tuesday, Feb 3rd we will have Blue Crew Social Hour at World’s End at 6pm.
Actions you can take from home:
- Tell Hilton #ICEOUT and that it is not acceptable for them to drop a franchise for standing up and not allowing ICE agents to book with them. This link has a letter you can send to senior executives.
- Tell our representatives not to fund ICE. Thank Brittany Pettersen for her pledge not to fund them.
- Tell Governor Polis to not cave to Trump’s bullying and let Tina Peters’ sentence stand.
- Tell our representatives to demand they restore healthcare subsidies.
