Hi Fremont County CO Indivisible,
TONIGHT (Oct 6, 2025) is a City Council meeting. It begins at 6pm but there are limited seats and parking, so if you would like to be there in support of Emily Tracy, please arrive early. Though the topic of Censure has been moved to the meeting on October 20, 2025 so that is when your support would also be appreciated.
TOMORROW (Oct 7, 2025) is Blue Crew Social Hour! It is easy to feel burnout with all the news each day brings. Taking time to have fun is important. Remember, joy is also resistance. So let’s gather at World’s End Brewing at 6pm and refuse to let the administration rob us of our joy.
SATURDAY (Oct 11, 2025) at noonish we will be having a Sign Making Potluck. As it is at someone’s home, if you are interested, please respond to this email so I can get you in touch with the hosts for directions. Bring supplies, a dish, and inspiration on what you put on your sign for No Kings 2.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 18, 2025 11 AM – 1 PM at the corner of 9th & Hwy 50, we will be joining millions across the country as we once again stand up and declare that we don’t do kings. Let’s make this the largest peaceful, non-violent protest our country has ever seen. This administration is targeting the working class in favor of billionaires, targeting immigrants without Due Process, attempting to classify our trans friends and family as terrorists, and much more. We do not have to silently accept and obey. We can stand up together, share our courage, and be on the right side of history as we say NO KINGS. You can register online here or just show up!
Speaking of attacks on the trans community, a member of Fremont County CO Indivisible has written a beautiful letter they would like to share.
“As a child, I was taught that the mistakes of history, the prejudiced dehumanizing of anyone with the temerity to be different, were behind us. That the enlightened society of The United States of America was better than that. That we had risen above that by focusing on the humanity in all of us, choosing to mutually respect each other regardless of our misunderstandings. But what humanity do we attribute to those afflicted by something we don’t understand–for which there is a cure, but we decide they shouldn’t have? When we decide by virtue of the hurt seeking a remedy that they must be monsters, how have we protected ourselves or the virtues of our homeland? When we decline to listen to their pleas to be treated as equals, when we decline to learn how similar they are, how have we been enlightened? So many people act as though understanding is a necessary prerequisite for respect. The truth is that only through respect can we truly understand each other. Only through love can we truly accept each other. And only through respect, love, and acceptance will the world be a nice neighborhood. I was taught that everyone, regardless of race, religion, or creed has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, so long as their pursuit brings no harm to their neighbors. I ask now for my neighbors to think whether I am truly so corruptive as they say. I ask them to think whether my presence in society, at a baseball game, in the church pew next to you, in a grocery store, in a classroom is truly so perverse and offensive. I ask them to think about how my existence, my right to healthcare, my right to be acknowledged in the media harms them.
Signed, “A kind woman afraid of her neighbors.”
I would love to see you at any or all of these events as we work to be better friends, family, and neighbors who stand up for those around us.
