You are invited!
No Kings 2 is this Saturday, October 18, 2025. We will gather from 11 AM – 1 PM at the corner of 9th & Hwy 50. But first we want to share some information with you so we can make sure this is a fun, peaceful event for all.
Please stay on the public sidewalks.
The grassy areas at that corner are all private property and we want to be good community members who support our local businesses. Please observe posted signs – including not parking in the Chamber’s parking lot.
DO NOT ENGAGE with counter protesters.
This is a peaceful and non-violent sign waving event. We will have the police present to ensure things remain peaceful and safe for everyone. Break out into song, turn around, or start a chant if you feel the need to respond. Or seek out a safety monitor to ask for their help – there will be folks in bright vests with walkie talkies who are trained in de-escalation tactics or can ask the police for help – so you can fully enjoy your day.
Wear comfortable clothing – be that a silly costume, yellow as encouraged by Indivisible, patriotic colors, or whatever else. Bring water and snacks. While the forecast isn’t supposed to be hot, it is still good to be prepared. Bring signs! We will have extra signs you can borrow if you don’t have one and cannot make one for any reason. Again, we ask that your signs do not mention Charlie Kirk. Positive signs have been shown to have a bigger impact. You also do not need to bring or hold a sign. You can wave American flags, play music, or whatever else brings you joy as we exercise our First Amendment right to free speech and peacefully gather! There is also a website with how to prepare if you want more information.
Ask Consent
Please get consent from folks before taking photos or videos. Most people are happy to pose for you, but it is still good practice to ask first. Feel free to hide behind a sign if you do not want to be in a photo when someone asks. We can share our excitement while still respecting different levels of comfort in being posted online.
Want us to share your photos? After the protest, if you have a photo you are jazzed about, feel free to email it to us and we can post it on our social media! If you have consent from the folks in the photo – feel free to tag us @frecoindivis or share it in our Facebook group.
Following the event, we have space reserved at World’s End Brewing at 4th and Main and you are invited to join us to socialize, eat, and drink to keep the excitement going.
We look forward to seeing you and having a great time together as we stand up and remind the world we love our country enough to speak up and speak out!
-Erin
P.S. Reminder that Monday, October 20th is the next Cañon City Council meeting where they will discuss and vote on the censure of Emily Tracy for posting an article on her personal facebook page. Feel free to attend and sign up to speak in support of Free Speech.
