No Kings in Cañon City: Newsletter

Hey Friends,

Last week we told you to save the date for October 18. Now that our event is live on mobilize.us, we can tell you the details. Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the corner of 9th & Hwy 50, we will be gathering to let everyone know that in the United States of America, we will not put up with kings. This will be a peaceful event. As always, we will ask the police to be there to ensure our safety. You are more than welcome to wear a mask if you want to for any reason. Bring a new sign, reuse one you’ve made, or borrow one of the extras we will have available.

More Ways To Get Involved:

We are still looking for volunteers to help run our tables at the Florence Pioneer Day on Saturday, September 20th and at the Penrose Apple Day on Saturday, October 4th. We will have fliers, business cards, and stickers to hand out as we get the word out about Fremont County CO Indivisible and Healthcare for All. I’d love to get an email response from you if you are interested!

One of our members shared a letter they wrote to Governor Polis about responding to the Texas gerrymandered redistricting. If this is something that you also feel strongly about but aren’t sure what to write, feel free to email us asking for this letter to help you get started.

Recent events have us also looking for volunteers willing to be Safety Monitors to ensure our protests can remain peaceful and nonviolent. So if you want to be stylish in a bright vest, reach out and I will get you in touch with the team to help keep our protests fun and safe for all.

Social Opportunities:

World Peace Day Potluck on Sunday, September 21st – Let’s have fun sharing our favorite international foods, playing games, and having a good time. QUILTBAG is hosting this event, so feel free to email me to get in touch with them for more information.

Halloween Party on Friday, October 31st – Fremont County CO Indivisible and QUILTBAG are co-hosting a night of fun, food, and music. Email us to get more information and find out how to RSVP.

And a reminder about Blue Crew Social Hour on the first Tuesday of every month at 6PM at World’s End Brewing in Cañon City. The next one will be October 7th.

Don’t lose hope, friends. What we are doing is helping gain new members and energize others to start speaking up against fascism. Together we remain strong. Our courage speaks volumes. And your voice matters!

P.S. Some emails are still bouncing with our new system. We invite you to add us to your contacts to ensure we can stay in touch!
